6. 1 Tim 1:19 19 Cling to your faith in Christ, and keep your conscience clear. For some people have deliberately violated their consciences; as a result, their faith has been shipwrecked. 20 Hymenaeus and Alexander are two examples. I threw them out and handed them over to Satan so they might learn not to blaspheme God.

7. Types of Consciences Clear / Pure conscience –1 Tim. 3:9 – live with a clear consc. –Serve God with a clear conscience (2 Tim. 1:3) Seared - 1 Tim. 4:2 Guilty Evil – Heb.10:22 Defiled - Titus 1:15 –minds & consciences Weak - 1 Cor. 8:10 Wounded - 1 Cor. 8:12

8. Seared Conscience – 1 Tim.4:2 These people are hypocrites and liars, and their consciences are seared/dead.

10. Hebrews 9:14 13 Under the old system, the blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a heifer could cleanse people’s bodies from ceremonial impurity. 14 Just think how much more the blood of Christ will purify our consciences from sinful deeds so that we can worship the living God. For by the power of the eternal Spirit, Christ offered himself to God as a perfect sacrifice for our sins.
