2. What is The European Legal English Teachers’ Association EULETA? Background Founded in Germany in 2006 by group of mainly university-based teachers of Legal English. Registered in Germany as non-profit organization with charitable status Aims: «to promote the effective teaching of Legal English» 1. Promotion and support of exchanges of opinion and experience among members 2. Promotion and support of publications both on the teaching and training of Legal English 3. Initiatives aimed at further qualification of university and non-university teaching of Legal English 4. Promotion of training and examination standards for national and international recognition of Legal English

Current Status of EULETA Membership Beyond Germany: members from 18 countries – including USA, Canada, Georgia, China and Japan Membership drawn from both academic world and those serving practicing lawyers and professionals requiring Legal English (banks, insurance etc.) Numbers Current membership: 93 members Individual: 81 Institutional: 13

4. Organization of EULETA Committee Six members: 2-year mandate Current Board (elected in November 2014): 4 based in Germany, 1 in Italy and 1 in Hungary Country Reps 2014: Creation of country reps. Currently 16 Website – Social Media www.euleta.orgwww.euleta.org redesigned and due to go online by end June 2015 Internal Communication (members only): Yahoo group Social Media: FACEBOOK/LINKEDIN (2015) Events Workshops: ‘odd’ years. Approx 50 people. Passau Sept 2015. One full day and low cost Conferences: ‘even’ years. Over 100 people, includes election of new board. 2016 will be 10 th Anniversary

Civil Law in Eastern European setting Tie-ups April 2015: Internship – Korean student through US EULETA contact spent two months in Monza
