3 Objective Students will write a well written paragraph, build rapport with classmates and peer review essays.

4 The “one question” ice breaker Work with your table mates in pairs Each pair comes up with one question If you could ask just one question to discover a person’s suitability for taking care of your business (say a clothing store or a computer store), what would your question be? Each pair needs to come up with just one question whose answer would help them determine whether or not someone would be suitable. BRAINSTORM what answers would cause you to consider someone suitable for the job….. NOW– just ONE QUESTION!!! NOW try it out on your other teammates. Is the answer as insightful as you had hoped?

7 Use an ESSENTIAL QUESTION from a standard or objective to GUIDE your note taking ORGANIZE your notes on the right-hand side of the page REVIEW and REVISE NOTES Note the key ideas to create questions. Exchange ideas by collaborating. LINK LEARNING by creating a synthesized summary. Use completed CN as a learning tool.

Underline any claims that he makes 2) REFLECT on prompt 1: what is Walter Pauk’s message about the importance of taking Cornell notes? What information in this letter is important for you to remember? 3) Re-read the 10 steps for CN and: a. Circle any key terms. b. Underline the main ideas. 4) What THREE key ideas will you make sure to incorporate when taking notes? PLEASE WRITE YOUR RESPONSES to #2 and #3 on a piece of notebook paper.
