2 Advisory Group on Gender Statistics Training and Activities, Accra, 29 January 2009 UNSD conducted the Survey during the first quarter of 2008. Questionnaires were sent to statistical offices with the request to consult with others in the office, national women machinery, and any other offices or agencies involved in the development of gender statistics.

5 Advisory Group on Gender Statistics Training and Activities, Accra, 29 January 2009 Capacity Building: Training Experience 60 out of 122 indicated that the person completing the questionnaire or else working in their organization had participated in some form of training on how to incorporate gender concerns into the production, dissemination, analysis and use of statistics through either short or long term training workshops.

6 Advisory Group on Gender Statistics Training and Activities, Accra, 29 January 2009 Capacity Building: Training Experience 47 countries indicated that they have some affiliation with a statistics training institute or center.

7 Advisory Group on Gender Statistics Training and Activities, Accra, 29 January 2009 Capacity Building: Capacity Building Needs 86 countries indicated that there is a need for capacity building on how to incorporate gender concerns into the production, dissemination analysis and/or use of statistics in their organization.
