Hydroelectricity is fast running water that generates electricity. It uses a huge generator to produce first mechanical energy and then to electrical energy.

Hydroelectricity comes from various dams around the world. Dams pipes and tunnels are man made structures that help store and channel water to the turbines. These structures are called power houses.

My energy resource is renewable. It is renewable because you can use water for it and you can pump the water back up and reuse it.

It’s a clean way of using energy because it does not cause pollution.

It takes up a large area of land and sometimes people are forced to move.
Reservoirs are very expensive to build because of their size.
Reservoirs can be very fatal to many lives because it can crack or overflow.
Fishes may die whenever turbines are on.
