2. No one knows what happened but definitely there will be many investigations. What happened was the BP wanted to drill a new. The well was really long so the chance of the blowout was very low. Lots of people were working a lot to install a new pipe. “All of a sudden there was a pressure surge and it could not be controlled. They had a huge machine called a “blowout preventer”, but it was still not possible to control the pressure flow. The pressure was so high that the gas separated from the oil and a big explosion occurred.

3. BP is making robots to be able to activate the “blowout preventer” and turn off the flow. There are two main ways BP are trying to stop the flow of oil. The first way is to make another hole to intercept, then put a special kind of fluid in the well to stop the oil. If that works then the workers will begin to sell of well #1. “This procedure is expected to take 7 months!” The other way is to make an under water trapping device to trap all the oil.

4. Lots of people were working diligently on cleaning with help from: 32 ships and many aircrafts. The planes are spraying chemicals, praying that it will take away the loads of oil in the ocean. Guards were saying that they would be fine with a burn of the oil. A great percentage of the oil will be trapped and set on fire. This may kill 95% of the oil.

5. A lot of the oil will attach together to make tar balls. The tar balls can possibly wash up on the shore line of beaches and effect wildlife. Many people don’t understand how severe this oil spill is. There is a big chance that a lot of the animals in the ocean will die from being flooded with oil. The government is spending millions of dollar for the oil spill while engineers try to find a way to stop it.

6. The oil spill relates to our Health and Social Education because it killed a lot of animal life. Think about it! A bunch of wild life being flooded with oil! I wouldn’t want that to happen to me. The good side that this happened is that now the society has gained knowledge and now there is less of a chance for it to happen again.
