GSC-9, Seoul Issues for Discussion (2) Global Roaming –Due to limited capabilities of 2G and coverage of 3G, vertical roaming between 2G and 3G is expected. –However, there are no criteria for switching back a mobile to the 3G/2G network when it has been switched to 2G/3G network. 2G Coverage 3G coverage

8. GSC-9, Seoul Issues for Discussion (3) Inter-Operability between L2 related standards and L3 related standards –IEEE 802.xx focuses on specifying L2 protocols. –RFCs of IETF focuses on L3 protocols. For realizing a convergence based on IP, a sub-layer (e.g., so-called L2.5) may be needed.
