Revelation Summary…To Date Chapter 1: Revelation of Jesus Christ. Angel presented Revelation to John (special blessing). Chapter 2 and 3: letters to seven churches, and prophetic picture of the church today Chapter 4: the church is raptured (view of heaven; living creatures, the elders) Chapter 5: God is on His throne (title deed to earth taken by Jesus Christ) Chapter 6: open the seals (Four Horseman, Tribulation Saints, and Celestial Devastation)

Revelation Summary…To Date Chapter 7: parenthesis or a pause between opening the 6 th and 7 th seals. Chapter 8: Seventh seal opened to reveal 7 trumpet judgements.

Revelation 8 Review In chapter 8, we looked at the first four of seven trumpet judgments. Verse 2, seven angels were given seven trumpets. Verse 7, the first angel sounded his trumpet, hail and fire mingled with blood, fell to the earth. A third part of the trees and green grass were burned up. Verse 8, the second angel sounded, a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea, with a third part of the sea becoming blood, killing a third of life in the sea, as well as destroying a third part of all ships. Verse 10, the third angel…judgment was a great star falling from heaven. It fell upon the rivers and fountains, making a third part them unfit to drink. The star was called "Wormwood," meaning, "bitter.“ Verse 12, the fourth angel sounded his trumpet, affecting the sun, the moon and the stars causing a third part of the heavens to be darkened. Verse 13, we hear an angel warning the inhabiters of the earth of more judgment to come: "Woe, woe, woe...by reason of the three angels which are yet to sound."

Revelation 9: The First “Woe” 9 And the fifth angel blew his trumpet, and I saw a star fallen from heaven to earth, and he was given the key to the shaft of the bottomless pit. [a] 2 He opened the shaft of the bottomless pit, and from the shaft rose smoke like the smoke of a great furnace, and the sun and the air were darkened with the smoke from the shaft. 3 Then from the smoke came locusts on the earth, and they were given power like the power of scorpions of the earth. 4 They were told not to harm the grass of the earth or any green plant or any tree, but only those people who do not have the seal of God on their foreheads. 5 They were allowed to torment them for five months, but not to kill them, and their torment was like the torment of a scorpion when it stings someone. 6 And in those days people will seek death and will not find it. They will long to die, but death will flee from them.a 7 In appearance the locusts were like horses prepared for battle: on their heads were what looked like crowns of gold; their faces were like human faces, 8 their hair like women's hair, and their teeth like lions' teeth; 9 they had breastplates like breastplates of iron, and the noise of their wings was like the noise of many chariots with horses rushing into battle. 10 They have tails and stings like scorpions, and their power to hurt people for five months is in their tails. 11 They have as king over them the angel of the bottomless pit. His name in Hebrew is Abaddon, and in Greek he is called Apollyon. [b]b [a] Greek abussos (abyss, depth, pit) [b] Abaddon means destruction; Apollyon means destroyer

Revelation 9: Picture Of Judgement Locus (not literal). A symbolical representation of demons loose in the world These demons will have the sting of a scorpion and will hurt, but not kill. Men, women and children want to die, but can not. This is figuratively hell. This will last 5 months (normal life span) Locus are a good representation of the demons (darken the sky, blighted crops in a few minutes) We see God’s judgement and the pain / suffer of mankind during the tribulation. They will cry let me die, but will not be able to for 5 months.

Revelation 9: Locus In Appearance “The appearance of the locusts was like horses prepared for battle.” They came like an invading Calvary, sweeping over mankind in defiance. “On their heads appeared to be crowns like gold.” They are invincible, no army could stop them. No one could reason with them, they were all powerful. “Their faces were like the faces of men.” Indicates intelligence, they were not randomly going about their task. “They had hair like the hair of women.” Indicates they were seductive. Just like the occult to use seduction. “Their teeth were like the teeth of lions.” This is a symbol of those who surrender to false teaching will find it vile and hurtful to their belief. False teachers will show no mercy on their followers.

Revelation 9: Locus In Appearance “They had breastplates like breastplates of iron and the sound of their wings was like the sound of chariots, of many horses rushing to battle.” They are insensitive, did not care, enjoyed inflicting pain, inescapable “They have tails like scorpions, and stings; and in their tails is their power to hurt men for five months.” They are injurious, poisonous. “They have as king over them, the angel of the abyss; his name in Hebrew is Abaddon, and in the Greek he has the name Apollyon.” Satan opening the abyss, and the demons going across the earth and delighting in punishing and inflicting pain.

Revelation 9: The Second “Woe” 12 The first woe has passed; behold, two woes are still to come. 13 Then the sixth angel blew his trumpet, and I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar before God, 14 saying to the sixth angel who had the trumpet, “Release the four angels who are bound at the great river Euphrates.” 15 So the four angels, who had been prepared for the hour, the day, the month, and the year, were released to kill a third of mankind. 16 The number of mounted troops was twice ten thousand times ten thousand; I heard their number. 17 And this is how I saw the horses in my vision and those who rode them: they wore breastplates the color of fire and of sapphire [c] and of sulfur, and the heads of the horses were like lions' heads, and fire and smoke and sulfur came out of their mouths. c [c] Greek Hyacinthc

Revelation 9: Second “Woe” 18 By these three plagues a third of mankind was killed, by the fire and smoke and sulfur coming out of their mouths. 19 For the power of the horses is in their mouths and in their tails, for their tails are like serpents with heads, and by means of the they wound. 20 The rest of mankind, who were not killed by these plagues, did not repent of the works of their hands nor give up worshiping demons and idols of gold and silver and bronze and stone and wood, which cannot see or hear or walk, 21 nor did they repent of their murders or their sorceries or their sexual immorality or their thefts

Revelation 9: Second “Woe” “… I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar before God.” Jesus Christ came first as Savior, but now is coming as Judge. A word of mercy and grace, not anger. (Jesus)…saying to the sixth angel who had the trumpet, “Release the four angels who are bound at the great river Euphrates.” (Jude 6), these are fallen angels (divine beings) who joined Satan in a conspiracy against God and man. History shows that the Euphrates is epicenter of demonic activity (Genesis 6:1-5)

Revelation 9: Second “Woe” So the four angels, who had been prepared for the hour, the day, the month, and the year, were released to kill a third of mankind. 3.65 Billion people would be killed if occurring today. Result of unattended, unrepented sin. The number of mounted troops was twice ten thousand times ten thousand; I heard their number. Army of 200 Million (1964 article Red China).

Revelation 9: Second “Woe” And this is how I saw the horses in my vision and those who rode them: they wore breastplates the color of fire and of sapphire and of sulfur, and the heads of the horses were like lions' heads, and fire and smoke and sulfur came out of their mouths. By these three plagues a third of mankind was killed, by the fire and smoke and sulfur coming out of their mouths. Military technology?

Revelation 9: Second “Woe” The rest of mankind, who were not killed by these plagues, did not repent of the works of their hands nor give up worshiping demons and idols of gold and silver and bronze and stone and wood, which cannot see or hear or walk. Worshipping idols, college classes of the occult. nor did they repent of their murders or their sorceries or their sexual immorality or their thefts. Issues that existed in John’s time, and in todays world.
