3 Requirements to Graduate Earn 26 State Credits Pass required State Courses Pass all the following EOC tests: English 1, English 2, Algebra 1, Biology, US History

4 Graduation Plans Foundation Plan with options of: Endorsement Distinguished Level of Achievement Performance Acknowledgements “To be eligible for automatic admission at a Texas Four-Year Public Institution, students must successfully complete the Distinguished Level of Achievement and be in the top 10% of their graduating class-- Texas Education Code (state law)

8 Multi-Disciplinary Studies (one of the following) 4 advanced courses from other endorsement areas 4 credits in each foundation subject area, including English IV and chemistry and/or physics 4 credits in Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate, or dual credit selected from English, mathematics, science, social studies, economics, LOTE or fine arts Arts and Humanities (one of the following) 2 levels each in two languages other than English (LOTE) Social Studies 4 levels in the same LOTE American Sign Language (ASL) Courses from one or two areas (music, theater, art, dance) in ne arts English electives not included in Business and Industry Public Service (one of the following) Human Services Health Science Education and Training Law Public Safety Government and Public Administration Corrections and Security Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC)

9 Performance Acknowledgements  A student may earn a performance acknowledgement for outstanding performance:  In a dual credit course  In bilingualism and biliteracy  On an AP test or IB exam  On the PSAT, the ACT/PLAN, the SAT, or the ACT, or  Earning a nationally or internationally recognized business or industry certification or license 8

11 Distinguished Level of Achievement A student may earn a distinguished level of achievement by successfully completing:  Four credits in mathematics, which must include Algebra II  Four credits in Science  The remaining curriculum requirements, and  The curriculum requirements for at least one endorsement. 10

Take home the packet & review thoroughly with a parent Check for prerequisites, fees, forms, etc. Complete the Course Request List sheet & 4-year- plan (review and change as needed)—sign & have a parent sign Bring the Course Request List and 4-year-plan sheets with you when you meet with your counselor.

16 Meetings with Counselors 9 th grade students will begin meeting with their counselors to complete course selection January 19- 21 through their W. Geog class. 10 th grade students will begin meeting with their counselors to complete course selection January 25- 27 through their W. History class. If you are absent on the day your counselor meets with your class, your counselor will call for you on a make-up day.
