8. Sample Other Data Teacher Survey Summary – (partial summary)  78% of teachers rated drill/practice as one of the top learning practices using technology in their classroom.  80% of all teachers surveyed made no significant changes to their classroom practices as a result of technology.  78% of teachers indicated they seldom or never encourage students to use technology to construct and produce knowledge beyond the material from teachers and textbooks.  15% of teachers have students use technology to create alternative research papers or demonstrate their achievement in alternate ways.

10. Sample Other Data Key Factors (For my example, this would not be the only thing here! I focused on the teacher survey.)  Teachers are not mandated to integrate technology into the curriculum.  Limited computer time prevents students from utilizing the technology for more complex tasks.

The SMART goal has an achievement focus. The strategies and activities of the Action Plan have a technology focus. The goal(s) should cover the three years of the TIP. SMART – specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and tangible (or timely)

19. Sample Goals  While our current achievement in reading for fifth grade shows 62% of our students in the meets/exceeds categories on the ISAT, the fifth grade will utilize technology resources and will improve to at least 92.5% in 2012 and 2013 and 100% in 2014 on the ISAT or make Safe Harbor.  While our current achievement in reading for the low-income subgroup is 50% meeting/exceeding for ISAT, this subgroup will make AYP of at least 92.5% in 2012 and 2013 and 100% in 2014 or make Safe Harbor with the support of technology.

20. Sample 2  All students will move from 85% in reading and 79% in math to 92.5% in 2012, 92.5% in 2013 and 100% in 2014, or make Safe Harbor, as measured by ISATs and PSAEs with the support of technology.  The Students with Disabilities subgroup will move from 62.3% in reading and 49.5% in math to 92.5% in 2012, 92.5% in 2013 and 100% in 2014, or make Safe Harbor, as measured by ISATs and PSAEs with the support of technology.

21. Action Plan: Curriculum and Instruction Section 2: Part B – Sample Strategies  Students will use scientific, research-based instructional interventions and appropriate technology to increase student achievement in reading and math.  Students will continue to participate in technology-rich activities.  Students will continue to enhance their ability to use technology to construct, design, and develop products which demonstrate an increased understanding of reading concepts/skills.

25. Action Plan: Curriculum and Instruction Section 2: Part B – Sample Activities  **Students in grades 3-12 will participate in internet safety instruction. Costs included in teachers' salary.  Students in grades K-8, will be assessed three times each year using AIMSweb screening test. Costs included in teachers salary.  All students will have access to and will participate in technology-rich activities that include student response systems, interactive Mimoes, and graphing calculators etc.  Students will continue to use multi media software and application programs to enhance ideas in relation to reading concepts and skills.

Action Plan: Professional Development Section 2 Part C: Sample Strategies  The district will implement a professional development program focusing on effective instructional practices utilizing technology to support student learning.  The district will provide professional development that assists teachers in increasing their professional technology proficiencies.  Teachers will receive training in various formats, including new anywhere ‐ anytime online training modules, to implement new technology in order to strengthen reading and math skills.

29. Action Plan: Professional Development Section 2 Part C: Sample Activities  Evaluate and provide professional development activities focusing on ways to increase student achievement using technology.  New teachers and support staff will be trained in the use and development of new and innovative technologies.  Administrators will continue to evaluate the effectiveness of technology in the classroom.  Teachers will receive new and/or refresher training on the districts Technology Scope & Sequence Plan.  Teachers will participate in annual internet safety training and modify the curriculum as needed.

Action Plan: Parental/Community Involvement Section 2 Part D: Sample Strategies  Continue to provide current parents and new parents technological access to support teaching and learning at home.  The District will use innovative informational technology and telecommunications services to communicate, collaborate and support parents and the community members to address learning needs and maintain a safe learning environment for all.  Engage the support of the parents and community members for new and continued technology uses that will improve students' reading and math skills.

33. Action Plan: Parental/Community Involvement Section 2 Part D: Sample Activities  The District will provide up ‐ to ‐ date web sites to communicate important information about academic resources with the students, staff and community. Costs for web site maintenance, software, and telecommunications included in tech deployment section. This includes presenter costs, meeting costs and misc materials' costs.  Incorporate internet safety information into parent technology training.  Continue to provide parents online resources to supplement and enhance at home learning.  **Consider – rationale for email, online grade books, etc…

36. Action Plan: Technology Deployment Section 2 Part E: Sample Strategies  Continue to maintain telecommunication services and update computers throughout the district as the demand for network resources increases.  Develop, implement, and maintain plans that ensure adequate technology resources in classrooms to meet the technology enhanced curriculum needs.  District will purchase and maintain necessary innovative technologies, software, telecommunications services need to support instruction, safety, and communication for all stakeholders.

37. Action Plan: Technology Deployment Section 2 Part E: Sample Activities  Purchase additional hardware and peripherals for student and teacher use to increase access/opportunities to support academic achievement and enhanced technology literacy.  Maintain telecommunication services (local / long district phone services, cellular service, etc) to support learning and day-to-day school operations.  Maintain a T-1 line for Internet access to classrooms, labs, and offices to support learning and day-to-day school operations.  Maintain technical support to effectively support technology resources (hardware, software, network, telecommunication)

39. Action Plan: Monitoring Process  Monitoring Description This should include a description of how district personnel will monitor the effectiveness of strategies and activities toward the achievement of the goals. The description should address:  Integrating technology into curriculum and instruction  Increasing the ability of teachers to teach  Enabling students to reach challenging state academic standards  Establishing an on-going, measurable process for monitoring the effectiveness of strategies and activities toward the achievement of the goal(s)

40. Action Plan: Monitoring Process Monitoring Description – Sample District administration and instructional technology committee will continue reviewing, analyzing, and planning for the effective use of technology in our classrooms. The district will strive to make adjustments to this plan as necessary to compensate for those and any other factors that might affect the efficiency of the use of technology and telecommunications equipment and services for instruction and learning.
