7 Summary/Analyze In the poem “Fire and Ice” by Robert Frost, he is talking about the end of the world as we know it, meaning earth and all life. He uses “Fire” to represent desire and “Ice” to represent Hate. Fire or ice will end this world, when he said “From what I’ve tasted of desire I hold with those who favour fire” From author's personal experience (what he tasted from desire) he thinks the desire can be a much more powerful/hurtful/stronger/destructive feeling. However if there was no fire(desire/passion), the world (life/earth/...) can also end with the opposite… the ice(hatred). I chose these images because they show exactly what Robert is receiving, and when I read the poems these are the images that he created I my head. I Chose this music because it is sad and depressing and it’s the feeling of the poem In this poem the Narrator is speaking. He is speaking to the reader about the end of the world. This is a closed poem and is written with (A-B-A,A-B- C,B-C-B) as a pattern. Rhyme (I think I know enough of hate to say that for destruction ice is also great)
