2. SON’S VISION 1 My people, hear my teaching; listen to the words of my mouth. 2 I will open my mouth with a parable; I will utter hidden things, things from of old— 3 things we have heard and known, things our ancestors have told us. 4 We will not hide them from their descendants; we will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the LORD, his power, and the wonders he has done. 5 He decreed statutes for Jacob and established the law in Israel, which he commanded our ancestors to teach their children, 6 so the next generation would know them, even the children yet to be born, and they in turn would tell their children. 7 Then they would put their trust in God and would not forget his deeds but would keep his commands.

3. A Chain of Impact on generations: We are to pass on the deeds and commands of the Lord generationally.

4. Generational Impact: If we tell one generation, they will tell their children; they will tell the next generation, and children not yet born will be sure of knowing about their God. There is an impact of 5 generations in these verses.

5. Our children and their children will be saved The final statement gives an assurance that our children’s salvation will remain secure if we pass on all that has been given to us.

6. Profound Impact Each generation will have a profound impact on the next generation.

7. GOD’S STATEMENT 3 Great is the LORD and most worthy of praise; his greatness no one can fathom. 4 One generation commends your works to another; they tell of your mighty acts. Psalm 145:3-4

8. Our Vision & Responsibility THIS GENERATION IS OUR RESPONSIBILITY AND MISSION From generation to generation the message of the Gospel is to be proclaimed.

9. SON’s PRAYER “Don’t let us die until I tell the next generation Your wonderful works, Your power to all who are to come.” Psalm 71:18

10. Generational gap When one generation is not connected to the next a generational gap is created.

11. Generational gap That means a generation failed its mission. The next generations will have to pick that up.

12. Our mission: bridge the gap and cross them From Darkness To God’s Kingdom

13. WHO WILL BE IN THE GAP FOR THEM? 30 “I looked for someone among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land so I would not have to destroy it, but I found no one. (Ez. 22:30)

14. God will hold generations responsible for rejecting God Therefore this generation will be held responsible for the blood of all the prophets that has been shed since the beginning of the world, from the blood of Abel to the blood of Zechariah, who was killed between the altar and the sanctuary. Yes, I tell you, this generation will be held responsible for it all. (Luke 11:50,51)

15. EACH GENERATION IS GIVEN A CHANCE Matthew 12:38-40 38 Then some of the Pharisees and teachers of the law said to him, “Teacher, we want to see a sign from you.” 39 He answered, “A wicked and adulterous generation asks for a sign! But none will be given it except the sign of the prophet Jonah. 40 For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of a huge fish, so the Son of Man will be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

16. EACH GENERATION WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE TO GOD Matthew 12:41 The men of Nineveh will stand up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it; for they repented at the preaching of Jonah, and now something greater than Jonah is here.

17. Matthew 12:42 The Queen of the South will rise at the judgment with this generation and condemn it; for she came from the ends of the earth to listen to Solomon’s wisdom, and now something greater than Solomon is here.

18. DARKNESS GETS WORST FROM GENERATION TO GENERATION 43 “When an impure spirit comes out of a person, it goes through arid places seeking rest and does not find it. 44 Then it says, ‘I will return to the house I left.’ When it arrives, it finds the house unoccupied, swept clean and put in order. 45 Then it goes and takes with it seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and live there. And the final condition of that person is worse than the first. That is how it will be with this wicked generation.” (Mat. 12:43-45)

19. GOD’S MERCY EXTENDS FROM GENERATION TO GENERATION Luke 1:50 His mercy extends to those who fear him, from generation to generation.
