Noel Fielding performed regularly as a stand-up comedian during the late 1990s, and appeared repeatedly on the BBC television stand-up showcase Gas. His highly animated stand-up routine included surreal stories, characters and songs, much like his later work in The Mighty Boosh and other projects. His character is a kind, somewhat naive and loyal friend to Howard Moon. He can talk to animals, earning him the nickname "Mowgli in Flares". Vince has a 'run-between-the-train tracks' quality about him, giving him the ability to land on his head in the most easy of situations.

Julian is best known for playing the character of Howard Moon in the cult comedy The Mighty Boosh. His character has certain elements of Julian's own personality which have been exaggerated. Howard labels himself a "jazz maverick" and claims to be an intellectual with many talents, calling himself a 'man of action', but in reality he is unsuccessful in his literary and romantic ventures.

Michael is best known for playing Naboo the Enigma, the shaman on The Mighty Boosh, co-written by and co-starring his older brother, Noel Fielding. He became part of The Mighty Boosh when he accompanied Noel to a show in Australia. Noel said on an interview with Jonathan Ross that the abstract name of the show came about from one of Michael's Portuguese friends who described his hair as being like a "mighty boosh", owing to Michael's curly childhood hairstyle.

He is probably most famous for his portrayal of Bob Fossil in various The Mighty Boosh stage, radio and television shows, as well as playing many other characters, including the Ape of Death and Leister Corncrake. He is also the only writer to provide additional material for the TV series outside of the major writers Noel Fielding and Julian Barratt. Fielding and Barratt came across Rich when touring in America and enjoyed his random absurd conversations so much that they wrote a part for him.

He also choreographs the dance routines and assists Julian Barratt (plays Howard Moon) in songwriting.
