Panelists Shannon Dunstan (ID-619) Pam Miller (MD-Part C) Verna Thompson (DE-619) Mel Woodcock (WV-Part C) Naomi Younggren (Department of Defense Army Early Intervention-Part C)

Today’s Agenda Welcome and introductions Key considerations during: – Exploration – Installation – Initial implementation – Full implementation Feedback on the draft Key Considerations document Questions and Answers

Key Considerations Document What is it? Why was it developed? What is the purpose? How can it be used and by whom?

Key Considerations During Exploration Articulate a mission Compare approaches State the desired changes Explore implementation and measure readiness of potential adopters Public awareness-ready the system

Questions for Panelists What was the reason you decided to explore the integration process? What were you hoping to accomplish? How are hoping this will improve outcomes for children/families? How are you introducing/discussing the concept to stakeholders and families (public awareness)? What resources have you developed (and what was the need that needed addressing)?

Key Considerations During Installation Secure leadership support Develop a communication plan Develop messages/materials Build an implementation team Determine system supports Build Training and TA Capacity Develop Implementation Plan

Questions for Panelists What types of materials and resources did you create to prepare your field and families for the integrated process? What was the result (i.e., did it work? What was the response)? Who were your early implementers and/or champions? How did you select them? How are you keeping your field informed about the work?

Key Considerations During Initial Implementation Adapt/adjust infrastructure Implement Training/TA Begin implementation Create feedback loops

Questions for Panelists Did you have to change policies and procedures to ensure implementation (describe)? What training and TA did you need to develop to ensure successful implementation?

Key Considerations During Full Implementation and Sustainability Fully implement (rollout to entire state) Maintain/Expand support base Continue Training/TA for fidelity Evaluate for fidelity and quality

Questions for Panelists What are some adaptations or adjustments you’ve made had to make based on the fields’ actual implementation? What are you doing to ensure sustainability?

Feedback on Key Considerations Document Are all the key concepts included? Are there any you feel are missing? What suggestions do you have for the format of the final product? What will make it the most user-friendly? Any other suggestions for the document?
