4 Excel Window Overview Title Bar – Contains the name of the application, document, group, directory, or file. If more than one window is open, the title bar for the active window (the one in which you are working) has a color or intensity different from other title bars.

6 Excel Menu Bar The Menu Bar contains the available menus from which you can choose commands.

7 Standard Toolbar The Standard & Formatting Toolbar provide a quick method of working with various parts of the worksheet. Toolbars can be customized and multiple toolbars can be displayed at the same time. Formatting Toolbar

9 What is a Cell? Rows and columns that intersect form CELLS.

10 What is a Column? A COLUMN in Excel is a vertical arrangement of data with alpha names. There are 236 columns in a worksheet. Just type data into the cells you need.

11 What is a Row? A ROW in Excel is a horizontal arrangement of data with numeric names (1 - 65,536). There are 65,536 rows available in a worksheet.

12 Today you will learn to: Insert and Delete a Column(s) and a Row(s). Move Data using the Drag and Drop feature. Select Fonts, Font Sizes. Color Fonts. Shade and Put Patterns in a Cell(s).
