FEATURING THE KIDNEYS AND THE URINARY BLADDER BY: REECE, NICK, AND GREG.

 The urinary systems main function is to remove waste products from the blood stream. It does this through a few processes. Lets take a look!

 Firstly, the blood goes into the kidneys through a large artery.  then tiny blood vessels branch off and pass through each nephron.  The Nephrons then filter the blood getting rid of waste such as water and other small substances (most water and nutrients enter back into the blood).  Then the cleaned blood exits each kidney through a large vein to recirculate the body.  The yellow fluid, urine, leaves each kidney through a tube called the ureter and flows into the urinary bladder.  It is stored in the bladder until it can be eliminated.  Urine then leaves the body through a tube called the urethra.

The Kidneys are a bean shaped organ. The Kidneys help remove waste products from the blood. Kidney stones cause problems in the urine flow and can cause pain. Some common urinary systems disorders are bacterial infection, kidney stones, and kidney Disease.

Kidneys: a bean-shaped organ that removes many harmful substances from the blood. Nephron: a microscopic filter in the kidney that removes a variety of harmful substances from the blood Kidney Stones: Salts and wastes build up inside the kidneys to form kidney stones. Kidney stones interfere with urine flow and can cause pain.

 The Urinary bladder’s job is to store the urine until it can be eliminated from the body. Once full the bladder sends the urine to the outside through a tube called the urethra. Urine: a concentrated mixture of waste materials that forms in the nephrons of the kidney
