2 TEKS TEKS for this third grade transformation activity is: (1) Mathematical process standards. The student uses mathematical processes to acquire and demonstrate mathematical understanding. The student is expected to: (G) display, explain, and justify mathematical ideas and arguments using precise mathematical language in written or oral communication

3 What is Transformation? Transformation involves rotation, reflection, and translation. After any of those transformations the shape still has the same size, area, angles, and line lengths.

6 What is Translation? A translation is a motion of a plane that moves every point of the plane a specified distance in a specified direction along a straight line.

9 What is Reflection? A reflection involves flipping an object across a line without changing its size or shape.
