2. یک مفهوم در اندازه شناسی هر اندازه گزارش شده دارای مقداری اغماض (Tolerance) است. این مقدار اغماض قطع یقینی نیست و با احتمالی این اغماض برقرار است. آن را عدم قطعیت می گوییم. هرچه اغماض را بزرگتر بگیریم عدم قطعیت کوچکتر است و بالعکس. مثلا طول یک شیئ 5 سانتی متر است. در روش اندازه گیری، 5 میلیمتر بعنوان اغماض در نظر گرفته شده و در اینصورت به احتمال 90 درصد شیئ در بازه اغماضی قرار دارد. اگر اغماض را 10 میلیمتر در نظر بگیریم آنگاه شیئ به احتمال 99 درصد دربازه اغماض قرار دارد. یعنی عدم قطعیت از 5 درصد به یک درصد کاهش پیدا کرده است.

3. نگاهی به تعریف PBN Performance-based navigation (PBN). – Area navigation based on performance requirements for aircraft operating along an ATS route, on an instrument approach procedure or in a designated airspace. Note.— Performance requirements are expressed in navigation specifications (RNAV specification, RNP specification) in terms of accuracy, integrity, continuity, availability and functionality needed for the proposed operation in the context of a particular airspace concept.

Availability The availability of GNSS is characterized by the portion of time the system is to be used for navigation during which reliable navigation information is presented to the crew, autopilot, or other system managing the flight of the aircraft. 3.5.2 When establishing the availability requirements for GNSS, the desired level of service to be supported should be considered. If the satellite navigation service is intended to replace an existing en-route navigation aid infrastructure, the availability of the GNSS should be commensurate with the availability provided by the existing infrastructure. An assessment of the operational impact of a degradation in service should be conducted.
