Using existing components design with available spare parts in the stock (TE-MSC-LMF). Longitudinal dimension increased by 3650mm compared to the present situation.

5 Click here to add footer 5 12th HL-LHC Parameter and Layout Committee meeting Talking into consideration all the constraints the new Q5 in insertion 6 could be integrated such as: The dilution kickers are not affected by the upgrade. The ejection lines are not affected by the upgrade. The jumper junction in between Q5L6 and the QRL will be either adapted on the service module on QRL side or most likely like with a link on top of the cryostat like for Q6L3. The new cryo-assembly design (cold mass items, vacuum vessel, service module…) uses existing components. The DFBM.5L6 could either shifted by 3.67m towards the DS or a longer link could be designed.
