1 Project Execution Planning for Building Information Modeling (BIM)
© 2009 Meeting #11 – August 18th, 2009 A buildingSMART Alliance project sponsored by: The Charles Pankow Foundation Construction Industry Institute (CII) Penn State Office of Physical Plant (OPP) PACE

2 The Challenge Develop a BIM project execution plan for a project which defines the appropriate uses for BIM, a process for BIM implementation, the information exchanges, and the infrastructure to support the various processes.

3 Project Goals Identify current Uses of BIM throughout the lifecycle of a project Develop a standardized procedure for implementing BIM Uses specific to a project. Test the standardized procedure using case studies and focus groups Disseminate the results BIM Project Execution Planning Guide Interactive execution planning templates Presentations at national conferences e.g. buildingSMART, AIA, AGC BIMForum, DBIA, CII, CMAA, CURT Articles in industry and academic publications
