2. ABOUT US
The Mechanical engineering department in our college started in the year 2010 and within 4 years team DJS KRONOS INDIA have already manufactured two all terrain vehicles and successfully participated in Baja SAE India & Baja Student India, all India inter-collegiate competitions.
We manufactured our first car in the year followed by a new one in
We started from scratch with nothing in our hands but an idea - an idea to design and manufacture an All Terrain Vehicle. In spite of all the difficulties and limited resources, within one year we successfully managed to reduce the weight from 413kg to 205kg.
In , we aim to build on our strengths by minimizing our mistakes.

3. About BAJA SAE Series
The BAJA SAE Series® is an event for the undergraduate engineering students, organized globally by the Society of Automotive Engineers, USA. The event has spanned across six countries – USA, Mexico, South Africa, Korea, Brazil and India. The BAJA SAE tasks the students to design, fabricate and validate a single seater four - wheeled off road vehicle to take part in series of events spread over a course of 3 days that test the vehicle for the sound engineering practices .

7. Event Highlights Endurance Race Rock Crawl Hill Climb/Traction
The endurance event assesses each vehicle’s ability to operate continuously and at speed over rough terrain containing obstacles in any weather conditions through a 4 hour race.
Rock Crawl
An extreme form of off-roading through harsh terrains which include boulders, mountain foothills, rock piles, mountain trails, etc. which test the suspension of the car.
Hill Climb/Traction
The Hill Climb Event is designed to measure each vehicle’s ability to transmit excess (climbing) force to the ground. If local terrain does not support a significant Hill Climb, a Traction Event may be substituted, usually involving pulling an excess load of approximately kgs on a flat surface.
Sales Presentation
The objective of the Presentation is for the team to convince the “executives” of a hypothetical manufacturing company to purchase the team’s Baja SAE India vehicle design and put it into production at the rate of 4000 units per year. For the purpose of the presentation, teams are to assume that the judges are to be a mixed group of corporate executives who may have experience in marketing, production and finance as well as engineering.
