5. 4 Year College/University Requirements All of the FL graduation requirements AND Algebra 2 2 consecutive years of a Foreign Language (Also BF requirement) Colleges look for RIGOR, should have:  Science  Math  Academic based courses

NCAA Requirements D1 and D2 have different requirements D1 requirements:  4 years English  3 years Math (Alg 1 and higher)  2 years Science  1 year of additional English, Math, or Science  2 years of Social Studies  4 years of additional courses (any of above and including foreign language, religion/philosophy)  2.30 minimum GPA  Graduate from HS

10. College Admissions Process Do your research!!!!! Check admissions criteria online. Make sure test scores, personal statements, and transcripts are sent (these are YOUR responsibility, double check!) Apply Early! Critical Reading, Math, and Writing (required). SAT I – General Reasoning (Reading, Math, Writing) SAT II – Subject test. Some schools will require this test as well. Bright Futures Mid year graduates (Sept 1-Jan 31 st )  Must have completed application by August 31 st to receive award for Spring 2015  Must complete application beginning December 1 st to receive award for Fall 2015  Hours must be completed by graduation date  Can take SAT/ACT through June 30 th (Fall awards) End of year graduates (June 2015)  Application opens on December 1 st (www.floridastudentfinancialaid.org)  Must complete community service by graduation (June)  Must take ACT/SAT by June 30 th (and qualify)

22. Bright Futures: Award info The award (or ineligibility) determination will be posted to a student's online Financial Aid Recipient History (FARH) screen and is viewable by the student. Login credentials will be sent to the student after the FFAA is submitted and enable a student to:  view award status (eligibility determination);  view/update demographic information;  view/update postsecondary institution;  view the amount disbursed each semester;  view the spring renewal GPA;  monitor hours remaining for the year and for the scholarship; and  view all correspondence posted and/or sent from the FDOE.
