2  What is the definition of Pride?  A) A HIGH OR INORDINATE OPINION OF ONE’S OWN DIGNITY, IMPORTANCE, MERIT, OR SUPERIOTY.  B) A FEELING OR DEEP PLEASUERE OR SATISFACTION DERIVED FROM ONE’S OWN ACHIEVEMENTS.  What is the definition of “Health” or “Public Health”?  A) THE STATE OF BEING FREE FROM ILLNESS OR INJURY  B) THE HEALTH OF THE POPULATION AS A WHOLE, ESPECIALLY AS MONITORED, REGULATED, AND PROMOTED BY THE STATE.

3  What is the definition of Nationalism?  PATRIOTIC FEELING, PRINCIPLES, OR EFFORTS. SPIRITY OR ASPIRATIONS COMMON TO THE WHOLE OF A NATION.  What is the definition of Public Opinion?  AN AGGREGATE OF THE INDIVIDUAL VIEWS, ATTITUDES, AND BELIEFS ABOUT A PARTICULAR TOPIC, EXPRESSED BY A SIGNIFICANT PORPORTION OF A COMMNITY.

7 Tuskegee syphilis experiement  The Tuskegee syphilis experiment (/t ʌ s ˈ ki ːɡ i ː /) [1] was an infamous clinical study conducted between 1932 and 1972 by the U.S. Public Health Service to study the natural progression of untreated syphilis in rural African-American men in Alabama. 9 Science and the Swastika: The deadly Experiment “Pride”  Number of German medical doctors abandoned the idea of caring for the sick in the Third Reich.  Intent on furthering the Nazi vision of a master Aryan race free from disease through selective breeding  They instead favored a policy of racial cleansing that saw them carry out atrocities in the name of eugenics.  By 1939, six years of Nazi rule had helped transform doctors into the murderers of 300,000 disabled people and psychiatric patients - the gas chambers were built to kill them.

12 Belmont Report in USA  The Belmont Report is a report created by the National Commission for the Protection of Human Subjects of Biomedical and Behavioral Research.National Commission for the Protection of Human Subjects of Biomedical and Behavioral Research  Its full title is the Belmont Report: Ethical Principles and Guidelines for the Protection of Human Subjects of Research, Report of the National Commission for the Protection of Human Subjects of Biomedical and Behavioral Research.  The Report was issued on 30 September 1978 [1] and published in the Federal Register on 18 April 1979. [2] [1] [2]  The Report took its name from the Belmont Conference Center where the document was drafted in part. The Belmont Conference Center, once a part of the Smithsonian Institution, is in Elkridge, Maryland, 10 miles south of Baltimore, and until the end of 2010 was operated by Howard Community College. 13 The Belmont Report Why it was created? RESPECT protecting the autonomy of all people and treating them with courtesy and respect and allowing for informed consent. Researchers must be truthful and conduct no deception; BENEFICENSE The philosophy of "Do no harm" while maximizing benefits for the research project and minimizing risks to the research subjects; and JUSTICE ensuring reasonable, non- exploitative, and well- considered procedures are administered fairly — the fair distribution of costs and benefits to potential research participants — and equally.
