1 Of Mice and Men Vocabulary #1-5 Add the following five words and their definitions to the “Word Wizardy” section of your composition books. Each word is found in the classroom novel Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck. As we read the novel, note the page number in your composition book when one of the words is used.

2 Instruction Slide #2 Each word has a small task associated with it. These assignments should be on another piece of paper ready to be handed in on the due date given. After 25 words are given, there will be a spelling/vocabulary quiz.

13 Morose Morose means gloomy or in a bad mood, so whenever the adverb morosely describes your actions, you're not feeling very cheerful. There is an element of crankiness in the word morosely, which you can even see it its Latin root, morosus, which means "peevish".

If you are resigned to something – you are just going to accept it – even though you might not want to. What part of speech is the word “resignedly?” hint: notice the “ly” ending
