1 Differences Between Frogs and Toads

2 Frog Characteristics Two bulging eyes.
Strong, long,webbed feet for swimming and leaping. Smooth slimy skin. Lay their eggs in clusters.

3 Toad Characteristics Short stubby bodies. Short hind legs for walking.
Warty,dry skin. Poison glands behind the eyes. Lay their eggs in long chains.

4 Where in the world ? Frogs are found everywhere in the world but Antarctica. Toads are found everywhere but Antarctica, the polar regions, Australia, Madagascar, and Polynesia.

5 Largest Frog The largest frog is the Goliath frog.
This frog is found in West Africa. Nearly 30 cm. long in size. Weighs about 3 kilos.

6 Largest Toad The largest toad is the Cane toad.
This toad can grow up to 23 cm. in length.

7 Teeth Frogs have very tiny teeth like fish.
Toads do not have any teeth at all.

8 Family Frogs belong to the Ranidae family.
This family contains more than 400 species. Toads belong to the Bufonidae family. This family contains about 300 species.
