3 Washington Monument Washington D.C.
It was built to remember our 1st president, George Washington. It is an obelisk shape. It is about 555 feet tall and has a pointed top.

4 Lincoln Memorial Washington D.C.
It was built to remember Abraham Lincoln, our 16th president. It honors his work to end slavery. It is a 19 foot statue that shows President Lincoln sitting in a chair.

5 White House Washington D.C.
It is located at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington, DC. It has been the official residence of all the presidents of the United States with the exception of George Washington.

6 Statue of Liberty New York City
The seven spikes on the crown represent the light of liberty shining on the seven seas and continents. The torch stands for lighting the way to freedom. The tablet shows the date the Declaration of Independence was signed. The Statue was actually a gift from the people of France.

7 Mount Rushmore South Dakota
It honors George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln. The faces are about 60 feet tall. About 400 workers helped build the monument.

8 Liberty Bell Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
It rang in 1776 when the Declaration of Independence was signed. It rang for many years until it cracked in 1835. The bell weighs about 2000 pounds and is made mostly of copper (70%) and tin (25%)

9 Gateway Arch St. Louis, Missouri
It is a monument to westward expansion. It is located on the banks of the Mississippi River in St. Louis, Missouri. It is a 630-foot tall stainless steel arch that rises above the city skyline.
