2 What is a Webpage? A text file Contains code interpreted by your browser – HTML and JavaScript Can be access by your browser – On a remote server – From your harddrive

3 What is a website? A collection of webpages Associated resources: – Images, video, sound – Documents such as *.txt, *.pdf, *.doc Organized in a directory

4 Get and Editor Need an editor – Something like TextWrangler if you know HTML http://alternativeto.net/software/textwrangler/ – Something like Kompozer if you do not http://kompozer.sourceforge.net

5 Create a Website How to video: – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1kipTrAlJw8 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1kipTrAlJw8 Download an HTML template: – http://www.quackit.com/html/templates/ http://www.quackit.com/html/templates/ Modify using your editor to add your additonal pages and content
