4. L OCATION Temple bar is an area in central Dublin. The area is bounded by the river Liffey to the north, Dame Street to the south, Westmoreland Street to the east and Fishamble Street to the west.

6. HISTORY This place takes its name from the Temple family because they had got his house and gardens there in 17 th century.

8. HISTORY The republican revolutionary group, the Society of the United Irishman, was formed in a meeting in a tavern in Eustace Street in 1791. Many times, temple bar was in danger because loads of property developers wanted to destroy this area for building. But its unfashionability probably saved it. These property developers destroyed much of the city's historic architecture during the 1960s.

9. P RESENT DAY Unlike the areas surrounding it, Temple Bar has preserved its medieval street pattern. It is promoted as "Dublin's cultural quarter" and has a lively nightlife that is popular with tourists.
