Doxology Praise God, from whom all blessings flow; Praise Him, all creatures here below; Praise Him above, ye heavenly host; Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.— Amen.

New Memory Verse 1 John 5:14-15, “This is the confidence which we have before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. 15 And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests which we have asked from Him.”

Summary and Conclusion of the Upper Room and Garden of Gethsemane Discourses. John 13-16

Summary of Chapters 15-16, The Garden of Gethsemane Discourse, Part 1. Chapter 15

Chapter 15 outlines three relationships: 1) With God, vs. 1-11, 26-27, 2) With other believers, vs. 12-17 3) With the indifferent and hostile world of nonbelievers, vs. 18-27.

“Pruning” of the believer includes trials and tribulations and sometimes Divine Discipline.

Heb 12:5-6, “My son, do not regard lightly the discipline of the Lord, nor faint when you are reproved by Him; 6 For those whom the Lord loves He disciplines, and He scourges every son whom He receives.”

Heb 12:11, “All discipline for the moment seems not to be joyful, but sorrowful; yet to those who have been trained by it, afterwards it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness.”

Prov 15:32-33, “He who neglects discipline despises himself, but he who listens to reproof acquires understanding. 33 The fear of the LORD is the instruction for wisdom, and before honor comes humility.”

Apart from walking with Christ, “abiding in Him”, on a daily basis we can not grow spiritually and therefore can not produce Divine Good.

John 15:6 is not speaking about losing your salvation because of John 10:27-30. It is Stage 3 of Divine Discipline the Sin Unto Death.

John 10:27-30, “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; 28 and I give ETERNAL life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand. 29 My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand. 30 I and the Father are one.”

When praying regarding D.G.P. we must pray for ourselves to be supplied both physically and spiritually to perform the task at hand, as well as for the situation or person.

The purpose of our salvation is to glorify God to the maximum, and that does not happen until Spiritual Adulthood; the point of consistent fruit bearing.

James 2:23, “And Abraham believed God, and it was reckoned to him as righteousness,” and he was called the friend of God.”

V. 16 Protocol for our Prayers: 1) All prayers are directed to God the Father only. 2) We pray in the Name of Jesus Christ. 3) God will answer our prayers, the confidence factor.

AGAPE love has a capacity basis. The capacity basis is Bible doctrine resident in your soul. The more doctrine you have, the greater your capacity for love.

Persecution is the demonstration of the world’s hatred. Self sacrifice is the demonstration of the believer’s AGAPE love.

The Holy Spirit’s Common Grace ministry allows the gospel to be understood by the unbeliever when they give it a hearing.
