3. What is “Advisr” ? Advisr is going to be a web-based application which will be targeted towards brokerage houses, asset management companies and financial services firms. The primary use of the application will be to provide traders, investment managers and research analysts, with live financial data that aids them in their decisions. Advisr is going to provide users the capability to monitor and analyze real-time financial data.

4. Why “Advisr” ?  There are a total of 173 brokage houses in Pakistan  These are divided into Low Tier, Mid Tier and High Tier.  Only a small number of high tier brokage houses have a solution from Bloomberg or Reuters for their business needs.  The current practices for the majority of brokage house is tedious, extensive and redundant, due to which most of their time is spend on just gathering preliminary information before making any progress towards any decision for some real investment.  Both the solutions from Bloomberg or Reuters is either very expensive based on terminal / user charging or either very cumbersome to use. ADVISR IS GOING TO PROVIDE A COST EFFECTIVE, EASY-TO-USE, EFFIECIENT AND RELIABLE SOLUTION TO EVERY BROKAGE HOUSE / ASSET MANAGEMENT COMPANY ALL OVER PAKISTAN (OR EVEN ALL AROUND THE WORLD, BASICALLY TO ANYONE WHO WANTS TO GET A DIRECT INSIGHT INTO THE FINANCIAL LANDSCAPE OF PAKISTAN)

5. What are the current practices? Before writing the report, key industry numbers are collected from various sources. All of these are copy pasted into excel. After this, trend analysis and charts are made and pasted back into words. Getting the key industry numbers is the most time consuming part since there’s no place where all this information is consolidated and this where “Advisr” comes in.

7. Components of Advisr 1.Industry :- This component is going to deal with data specific to a particular industry like automobile, cement, fertilizer. 2.Market :- The markets section to provide with the live equity market information such as live and historic feeds of KSE 100, KMI 30, etc. 3.Commodities:- This component is going to provide global commodity prices for gold, silver and other metals. As well as the local (Pakistan's) prices of these commodities 4.Reports:- This last section is going to contain research reports published by other brokage houses and companies containing key insights for analysts using Advisr

8. Data Feasibility & Sources - Industry 1.Industry :- Data specific to a particular industry like automobile, cement, fertilizer are available from APCMA, PAMA and NFDC. Data from NFDC is available on their website, they publish their reports on monthly basis. The data is inside word documents. Data from APCMA [All Pakistan cement manufacturing association] is available on their website where they add new updated data directly on the their website in Plain HTML format Data for PAMA are available as a monthly report via their website as Excel Sheet

9. Data Feasibility & Sources – Market & Commodities 2. Market :- The markets section to provide with the live equity market information such as live and historic feeds of KSE 100, KMI 30, etc. Data is Available directly on a number of sources, the historic data is publicly available but the live data feeds will be scraped due to which there’ll be a delay factor of 5-10 seconds 3. Commodities :- This component is going to provide global commodity prices for gold, silver and other metals. For the global commodities prices we will be using the Xignte API for the live data prices.

11. Wireframes The web application will four main categories, Market, Industry Economics, Commodities and Reports as described in the previous slide. The following few slides will show the main page and layouts for the components mentioned.

12. Wireframes : Main Page As shown, the main screen will comprise of brief information on all three categories, Market, commodities and Industry. Alongside the information, trends will be shown through graphs. Figure 1

13. Wireframe : Industry This is the most special feature of the application. Investors and traders need up to date information regarding the performance of difference industries like Cements and Fertilizers. This helps them build financial models and forecast earnings for the coming periods and therefore, enables them to arrive at a better target price. Figure 2

14. Wireframe : Market (Specific Company) Once a person selects a stock from the markets section a similar layout will be shown with the historical share price along with a table listing other attributes related to a share. E.g a Graph + table layout Figure 3

15. Wireframe: Reports The reports section will have reports by various people who are related to the field of finance like economists and brokers etc. The user can view reports and save them in the pdf format to view later locally Figure 4

17. What are the future plans? Currently our main focus is to consolidate a backhand database for commodity (ex gold and silver) and build its working prototype, and to move on to other components one by one. The main task is data consolidation, since its from a lot of different sources.
