Messenger Ribonucleic Acid Informational Transcription & the General Chemistry The Inter-relationship between m-RNA, Skinner, & the 2 nd Law of Thermodynamics - Entropy

Morse Code Alphabet Up until the time a man by the name of Samuel Morse devised a method of converting a human “primary” language to a “secondary” language – messages and information was either sent in the written form via a messenger who was a “runner” –or- on horse-back. ___________________ His invention is shown to the left.

Morse Code Alphabet Ending Signal · · · - · - Starting Signal - · - · - Besides a series of one-to- four dots or dashes to represent the 26 letters of the alphabet (not shown here are punctuation marks, numbers, et al); The “Morse Code” also had to have a way to tell the “receiving” party when to “start” the message and when to “end” the message.

Morse Code Alphabet Ending Signal · · · - · - Starting Signal - · - · - Also, since the Morse Code was by-passing the “runner” or “Pony-Express” horseback rider to send messages --- The two devices below were also required to complete the “informational loop”.

Morse Code Alphabet And this is the system in its entirety. End of work · · · - · - Starting Signal - · - · -

Morse Code Alphabet As a little classroom exercise – let’s use Morse Code to set up a message using our school’s name – Madison. End of work · · · - · - Starting Signal - · - · -

Morse Code Alphabet End of work · · · - · - Starting Signal - · - · - Therefore; starting w/ the school name… Madison We need a start code We then need the respective codes for each letter separated by a comma (,) We then need a stop code.

Morse Code Alphabet End of work · · · - · - Starting Signal - · - · - Madison -*-*-*-, - -, * -, - **, **, ***, - - -, - *, *** - * -

Morse Code Alphabet End of work · · · - · - Starting Signal - · - · - Without telling anyone, choose “1” of the “4” ACT words from this week and encode it.

Morse Code Alphabet End of work · · · - · - Starting Signal - · - · - And in case you cannot recall the “4” ACT words from this week – they are: ARID ASYLUM BENEVOLENT BIAS

Morse Code Alphabet ARID ASYLUM BENEVOLENT BIAS End of work · · · - · - Starting Signal - · - · -

Morse Code Alphabet ARID ASYLUM BENEVOLENT BIAS End of work · · · - · - Starting Signal - · - · - And now use your selected word in a sentence – be ready to transmit this via the IPAD & Splashtop
