Ruth approached quietly, uncovered his feet and lay down. 8 In the middle of the night something startled the man; he turned—and there was a woman lying at his feet!

All the people of my town know that you are a woman of noble character. 12 Although it is true that I am a guardian-redeemer of our family, there is another who is more closely related than I. 13 Stay here for the night, and in the morning if he wants to do his duty as your guardian- redeemer, good; let him redeem you. But if he is not willing, as surely as the Lord lives I will do it. Lie here until morning.”

For the man will not rest until the matter is settled today.”

42. APPLICATION 1. When God gives us hope, he expects a reaction. Verses 1-5 are the turning point of the whole book of Ruth. Naomi had hopes that Boaz and Ruth would marry, so she prodded Ruth to move ahead. She knew the risk that Ruth was making.

43. APPLICATION 2. God wants us to move your relationship with Him to a deeper level- and he has asked. He has even demonstrated his love by sending Jesus to die on the cross for us. He took the risk- our part is simple. Do we say yes or no?

44. APPLICATION 3. If you are still asking questions about God and whether you need to love and trust Him then make the effort to address them. Know his promises, understand his plan, find what you need to be able to accept Him as your redeemer.
