Create an online profile using the Writer’s Profile (Handout 1.3a) in the Online Classroom. When ready, read your classmates’ online profiles and comment on what you find interesting, and what you have in common.

Writers’ Practices Use your notebook to save ideas for future writing. Develop stamina—when one idea is used up, start writing about a new idea. Use several approaches to find writing ideas. Take risks to get to know yourself and each other. Show respect for peers and teachers when working independently, sharing, and commenting.
