1 “নামাজ বেহেস্তের চাবি কাঠি” [হাদিস] Prepared by: Dr. Abdul Hakim
“নামাজ বেহেস্তের চাবি কাঠি” [হাদিস] DUA’S IN SALAT আল্লার নিকট অতি পসন্দনেও এবাদত, বান্দার সময় মত নামাজ আদায় [হাদিস] بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ Prepared by: Dr. Abdul Hakim

2 OBJECTIVE The objective of this article is just to satisfy Almighty Allah (SWT), not any worldly reward. الله، الملائكة، سكان السماء والأرض، حتى النملة في حفرة لها وحتى السمك في البحر، وإرسال صلى الواحد الذي يعلم الناس الخير Our Beloved Prophet (PBUH) said: “Allah, the angels, the inhabitants of heaven and earth, even the ant in its hole and even the fish in the sea, send blessings upon the one who teaches the people good.” [Hadith: Tirmidhi].

3 INTRODUCTION As-Salah (নামাজ) is Arabic language, it means ‘Dua’ (invocation). As-Salah Islamically it means to worship Allah (SWT) through certain known and prescribed sayings and actions starting with Takber (saying Allahu Akbar, Allah is Great), and ending with Taslem (saying: as-salaamu ‘alaykum wa Rahmatul-lahi wabarakaatuh, may Allah’s peace, mercy, and blessings be upon you). Ref: Understand Islam. There are some “Duas” we need to read in the salat (prayer). A few of them are compulsory and the rest are optional. However, all of them have reference. The Dua’s are:1) beginning of the prayer, 2) in the ‘Ruku’, 3) rising from the ‘Ruku’, 4) in ‘Sujood’, 5) between two ‘Sujood’, 6) at-Tashahhud, 7) Qunut in the Witr prayer, and 8) just before ending the prayer. Note: From the definition of Salah we learn that Salah (নামাজ) mean ‘Dua’ / ‘invocation’ / supplication. Therefore, at the beginning to end of the Salat there are several places / stages / phases we can make ‘Duas’. The fist surah in each ‘rakah’ we recite, surah Al-Fatheha, which is also a ‘Dua’. In true sense the entire salat ( ) is filled with Duas.

English Translation: Glory be to You, O Allah, and all praises are due unto You, and blessed is Your name and high is Your majesty and none is worthy of worship but You. Abu Hurayrah (RA) said: "When the Prophet (PBUH) said Takbir He (s) would pause for a short time before reciting Al Fatihah. I said: O Messenger of Allah, I have observed that you keep silent between the Takbir and recitation of Al Fatihah. What do you say? He said: O Allah, distance between me and my sins as wide apart between the east and the west, O Allah, purify me of my sins as a white robe is purified of filth, O Allah, cleanse me of my sins with snow, water, and ice.."
