1 PSE: Active Citizenship Wales, Europe and the World

2  List as many things as you can that are different between England and Wales.  EXAMPLE : Saints day’s, Festivals ….

4  In the 20th century, Wales saw a revival in its national status. Plaid Cymru was formed in 1925, seeking greater autonomy or independence from the rest of the UK.  In 1955, the term England and Wales became common for describing the area to which English law applied and Cardiff was proclaimed as capital city of Wales.

5  Read the information about Plaid Cymru and make an information leaflet about the Political party.

6  Cymdeithas yr Iaith Gymraeg (English: The Welsh Language Society) was formed in 1962, in response to fears that the language may soon die.  TASK : - READ THE NEWS ARTICLES. - Discuss the Welsh Language Society in small groups. - Explain to the rest of the class your opinion on the Welsh Language. Justify your opinion
