1 Solar Panel Concepts Covered: Energy Transfer, Static/Kinetic Friction, Motor and Solar Panel Efficiency. Equations: F= ma, Solar Efficiency = Power Output/ (Solar Energy Provided* Surface area), Motor Efficiency = Mechanical Energy outputted/ Electrical Energy input Experimental Challengers: Assembly and operation of solar panel vehicle. Testing would include acceleration under load, speed obtained, lighting values, wave lengths, max torque of the system. Results from testing would prove or disprove the obtained analytical model. Analytical Challenge: Student will analyze different type of solar panel and determine the proper efficiency functions. Determine proper motor size and output need to propel the solar panel powered vehicle up inclines and around low/different lighted areas while pulling differently shaped and weighted mass. Finally determine the efficiency of the system

3 Student Experiences Students will analyze real world systems that are gaining momentum as companies become more energy and environmentally cautious. The student would be able to see how efficient the wave of the future has come to this point. Students will Experience a fun and hands on experiment.
