THE CALL TO WORSHIP [ Pastor / CONGREGATION ] (Psalm 121) I lift up my eyes unto the hills -- WHERE DOES MY HELP COME FROM? My help comes from the Lord, THE MAKER OF HEAVEN AND EARTH. He will not let your foot slip -- HE WHO WATCHES OVER YOU WILL NOT SLUMBER.

Indeed, He who watches over Israel WILL NEITHER SLUMBER NOR SLEEP. The Lord watches over you THE LORD IS YOUR SHADE AT YOUR RIGHT HAND. The sun will not harm you by day, NOR THE MOON BY NIGHT. The Lord will keep you from all harm; HE WILL WATCH OVER YOUR LIFE. The Lord will watch over your coming and going BOTH NOW AND FOREVER MORE.

THE OPENING HYMN #797 [ All who are able please stand ]

(1) Come, ye thankful people, come, raise the song of harvest home; all is safely gathered in, ere the winter storms begin. God our Maker doth provide for our wants to be supplied; come to God's own temple, come, raise the song of harvest home.

(2) All the world is God's own field, fruit as praise to God we yield; wheat and tares together sown are to joy or sorrow grown; first the blade and then the ear, then the full corn shall appear; Lord of harvest, grant that we wholesome grain and pure may be.

(3) For the Lord our God shall come, and shall take the harvest home; from the field shall in that day all offenses purge away, giving angels charge at last in the fire the tares to cast; but the fruitful ears to store in the garner evermore.

(4) Even so, Lord, quickly come, bring Thy final harvest home; gather Thou Thy people in, free from sorrow, free from sin, there, forever purified, in Thy presence to abide; come, with all Thine angels, come, raise the glorious harvest home.

SILENT PRAYERS OF THANKSGIVING AND CONFESSION THE ASSURANCE OF PARDON Psalm 28:7 The Lord is my strength and my shield. My heart trusts in God, and I am forgiven. My heart is glad and I will give thanks to God in song.

‘HE IS LORD’ He is Lord, He is Lord! He is risen from the dead and He is Lord! Every knee shall bow, Every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. Please repeat (A song for Christ the King Sunday)

THE HOLY SCRIPTURE 1 Timothy 1:12-17 Read by I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has given me strength, that he considered me trustworthy, appointing me to his service. Even though I was once a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent man, I was shown mercy because I acted in ignorance and unbelief. The grace of our Lord was poured out on me abundantly, along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus.

Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners of whom I am the worst. But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display His immense patience as an example for those who would believe in him and receive eternal life. Now to the King, eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen.

THE SONG OF PREPARATION #790 ‘WE GATHER TOGETHER TO ASK THE LORD’S BLESSING’

(1) We gather together to ask the Lord’s blessing; He chastens and hastens His will to make known. The wicked oppressing now cease from distressing. Sing praises to His Name; He forgets not His own.

(2) Beside us to guide us, our God with us joining, Ordaining, maintaining His kingdom divine; So from the beginning the fight we were winning; Thou, Lord, were at our side, all glory be Thine!

(3) We all do extol Thee, Thou Leader triumphant, And pray that Thou still our Defender will be. Let Thy congregation escape tribulation; Thy Name be ever praised! O Lord, make us free!

THE SERMON BEING THANKFUL IS A CHOICE 1 Timothy 1:12-17 Please See Sermon Outline Bayshore Gardens Community Church Dr. Daniel Herlein

The FIRST suggestion of that for which we can CHOOSE to be thankful: GOD’S BOUNTIFUL CREATION :  Here on the Florida Suncoast;  The universe beyond our planet;  The marvels within our own bodies;

The SECOND suggestion of that for which we can CHOOSE to be thankful: OUR MATERIAL POSSESSIONS AND OUR SUSTENANCE. Deuteronomy 8:10 “After you have eaten and are satisfied, praise the Lord your God for the good land He has given you and be careful not to forget the Lord.”

The THIRD suggestion of that for which we can CHOOSE to be thankful:  OUR GOD-BLESSED NATION IN WHICH WE LIVE  THOSE WHO HAVE FOUGHT TO KEEP US FREE.

The FOURTH suggestion of that for which we can CHOOSE to be thankful: OUR FAMILY AND OUR FRIENDS. Proverbs 17:17 A friend loves at all times, and is present in times of adversity.

The FIFTH suggestion of that for which we can CHOOSE to be thankful: THE ABSOLUTE ASSURANCE OF VICTORY OVER DEATH AND THE GRAVE. 1 Corinthians 15:55-57 “Death has been swallowed up in victory. Where O death is your victory? Where O death is your sting? Thanks be to God! He gives the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ!”
