Pastor Timothy Hinkle August 4, 2013

Some scriptures are more familiar than others. When you hear a familiar scripture do you stop and ask The Lord what He is speaking to you through that scripture THIS day?

Yesterday He spoke to me, "I have never seen the righteous forsaken or his seed begging bread" I asked, "What makes me (anyone) righteous?" In fact some days I don't "feel" righteous at all.

Then the Holy Spirit reminded me of "Paul's primary doctrine" that we are righteous only because we are "in" Christ Jesus!

He IS our righteousness and we are saved by the completed work of Calvary through faith and because of His marvelous GRACE, defined as "unmerited favor". I'm so grateful. --Pastor Timothy

The Day of Atonement 1 Now the LORD spoke to Moses after the death of the two sons of Aaron, when they offered profane fire before the LORD, and died;

2 and the LORD said to Moses: “Tell Aaron your brother not to come at just any time into the Holy Place inside the veil, before the mercy seat which is on the ark, lest he die; for I will appear in the cloud above the mercy seat.

50 And Jesus cried out again with a loud voice, and yielded up His spirit.

51 Then, behold the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; and the earth quaked, and the rocks were split,

52 and the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised;

18 that by two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we might have strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold of the hope set before us.

19 This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presence behind the veil,

20 where the forerunner has entered for us, even Jesus, having become High Priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek

19 Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, 20 by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh,

21 and having a High Priest over the house of God, 22 let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.

 Not only CAN we enter into His presence but we are INSTRUCTED TO enter into His presence!  Our Heavenly Father wants to spend time with each one of us.

 Notice that the renting of the veil was the FIRST thing accomplished upon Jesus “giving up the ghost”  Do you get it? Jesus died so that you could spend time with Him (Trinity)!

23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. 24 And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works,

25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.

2 Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.

 Gather Together  Exhort One Another  Lift One Another’s Burdens and Fulfill the Law of Christ

 Since He (Christ) dwells in each one of us, we are FELLOWSHIPING with HIM when we come together!  Your actions toward one another are actions towards Christ!

17 “Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill.

Free from Indwelling Sin 1 There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.

 Jesus died for YOU and the first thing He did was RENT the veil of separation  The LORD wants to spend time with YOU  Spending time together fulfills the law of Christ and is one form of spending time with the Lord

 We are saved by God’s grace and since Christ fulfilled the Law, we don’t have to—we couldn’t anyway!  One way the Law is fulfilled IN US is by spending time with God!

 His grace is PERFECTED IN US as we abide IN CHRIST we WILL walk according to the Spirit!
