5 Where are babies born outnumbering people dying?

6 Where are babies born outnumbering people dying?
Which society would you expect to have more babies? Why? Which society would you expect to live longer? Why?

7 Where are babies born outnumbering people dying?
What countries have the highest rate of population growth?

8 Where are babies born outnumbering people dying?
WHICH countries and continents are increasing the world population? X Continent- represents many countries

9 Who is having more babies?
BIRTH RATES! Who is having more babies?

10 MORTALITY RATES! Who is dying earlier?

11 Why is the population distributed like this?

12 Why is the population distributed like this?
These statistical data mostly confirm the results from the stable night lights maps. They also indicate that Europe’s population is highly concentrated along the coastlines and in a corridor reaching from the Southern and Central parts of the United Kingdome to the Netherlands, Belgium down the Rhine valley and to northern Italy (see the red areas). There are very large rural areas of thinly populated space in Norway, Sweden, Finland, Ireland, Greece Central France and Central Spain. Low population density can be also found in North-eastern Germany and in most of the Baltic States. This very uneven population distribution is a reason for great concern, especially among the Nordic countries.

17 Let’s see what we know… Which are you ready to answer, and which do you need a peek?
The Amazon River and Rainforest and the Andes Mountains in South America have caused MOST cities to be located where? A along the rivers B in the south C along the coasts D in the west Most developing countries have larger population growth than developed countries. This is a result of A higher birth rates in developing countries B higher mortality rates in developing countries C higher birth rates in developed countries D higher birth rates and mortality rates in developed countries

18 Talk to each other, and then talk to me…
WG.7.C describe trends in world population growth and distribution. Why is the population so uneven across the globe? Use the word wall words to answer.
