Where will you spend Eternity?

Rev. 21:1-8 1And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. 2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.

4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. 5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful. 6 And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.

7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. 8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

Just as the Bible tells us about the beautiful place of Heaven…

It also tells us about the place of ‘fire and brimstone’… Which John refers to as “the second death” Rev.21:8

What does the Bible say about ‘fire and brimstone’?

Fire and Brimstone Example: Gen. 19 - God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah with a rain of fire and brimstone!

In Deut. 29.. the Israelites are threatened with the same punishment should they abandon their covenant with God.

Divine Judgments involving fire and sulfur are prophesied against Assyria Isa. 30

Against Edom (Isaiah 34),

Against Gog Ezekiel 38

And… Against all the wicked Psalm 11

In Isa. 30:33… The breath of God is compared to brimstone: "The breath of Jehovah, like a stream of brimstone, doth kindle it."

Fire and brimstone frequently appear as agents of divine wrath throughout the book of Rev. culminating in chapters 19–21, wherein the devil and the ungodly are cast into a lake of fire and brimstone as an eternal punishment:

Rev. 19:20 "And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone"

Rev. 20:10 "And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever"

But look what God says: Rev.21:8 "But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death"
