4 B ACKGROUND 1. Tropical juices Inc. is a fruit & cocktail juice manufacturer 2. Ships goods to the distributors,spread all over continental US 3. Production decisions are based on the orders for the coming month 4. Receives orders from distributors through phone or electronic order system. 5. Company has a constant growth as new distributors are adding up to existing database T ROPICAL J UICES, I NC.

5 B USINESS N EEDS The project has been initiated to address the following 1. To invest more in advertisements and promotions in those regions where the sales are comparatively higher than other regions 2. Distributor tracking and sales performances of each distributor at a national level 3. To keep track of the inventory available and inventory sold at each distribution 4. To estimate the production requirements for the forthcoming month 5. To consolidate all the data T ROPICAL J UICES, I NC.

6 P ROPOSED S YSTEM The proposed system will perform the following functions 1. The new system will address the problem of distributor tracking and sales performances of each distributor at a national level 2. The system will keep track of the inventory available and inventory sold at each distribution location 3. Generate reports to eliminate generation of purchase orders 4. The system is expected to be complete in about a year including the training time required to train the distributors T ROPICAL J UICES, I NC.
