2. (Heart of the one who worships during the night of Eid-ul-Fitr and Adha does not darken in the day of which the hearts get darkened. [Taberani] The gates of [Allah’s] Compassion are opened on four nights. Prayers or istighfars done on these nights will not be refused. The first nights of the ’Iyd of Fitr and Adha (Qurban), the fifteenth night of Sha’ban [Barat] and Arafa Night. [Isfahani] A hadith-i-sharif declares: “The worst of misers is the one who does not perform the sacrifice [though it is wajib for him to perform the qurban].”
