11 Induction Set  Teaching and learning Activities 1.Students are asked to go to the computer lab. 2.Students are divided into 5 groups. 3. Students are shown the attached chart. 4. Students are asked to answer the following questions: i. “How many lorries and cars passing by the road on the 1 st hour?” ii. “How many lorries pass the road on the 2 nd and 3 rd hour?”

14 STEP 1: OPEN THE EXCEL PROGRAM  Group 3-3 1. Open the Excel Program. 2. Key in the following data by teacher’s guide. MondayTuesdayWednesdayThursdayFriday Sandwich4035453020 Burger201525 30

15 1. On the 1 st row of the 1 st column, type “DAY”. 2. On the 2 nd column of the same row, type “MONDAY”, next column, “TUESDAY”, and so on, until “FRIDAY”. 3. On the 2 nd row of the 1 st column, type “SANDWICH”. 4. On the 2 nd column of the same row, type the number of the sandwiches sold on each day. 5. On the 3 rd row of the 1 st column, type “BURGER”. 6. On the 2 nd column of the same row, type the number of the burgers sold on each day.

16 STEP 2: DRAW PAIRED BAR CHART A. Students are asked to do the following instructions: Highlight all columns and rows that have the data keyed in earlier. Click “Chart Wizard” from the tool bars. Choose the type of chart we want. i. Choose “column chart” ii. Choose “ bar chart” 4. Click “Next”. 5. Click “Next” again.

17 6.Give a title for the chart. 7.Name the x and y axis. 8.Click “Next” 9.Click “Finish”. 10. Students submit the outcomes.

19 STEP 3: EXERCISE  Distribute Work Sheet 1 to each group and complete the exercise by using MS Excel.Work Sheet 1
