12 Take-away Points  HPMS data is used primarily to determine apportionment of Federal-aid  HPMS is a partnership between FHWA and States  HPMS encompasses all public roads  Due date for the annual submittal is June 15th Summary 12 HPMS Training Course

13 Summary 13 HPMS Training Course Take-away Points (cont’d)  The States are required to submit 12 datasets to FHWA annually  HPMS consists of roadway section-level, area-wide summary, and supplemental data  The model’s GIS framework allows data to be analyzed/managed geospatially

14 Take-away Points (cont’d) Summary 14 HPMS Training Course  The Sections and Routes datasets are used for primary analysis in HPMS  Area-wide summary data is used to supplement the Sections data  The States are required to report information for 63 attributes  The States are required to report their sample sections via the Sample Panel ID dataset

15 Take-away Points (cont’d) Summary 15 HPMS Training Course  The HPMS software will generate the TOPS and number of required samples  The States must select samples on a random basis  Sample adequacy reviews must be conducted annually  Each State must submit a series of attribute datasets and a LRS network annually
