3 Reading Comprehension Reading comprehension is to understand what we have read or understand something that one reads.casdhan (1980:65). It means reader who understands what he has read and he can identify of the main idea in paragraph, to get the important details and can identify organization.

4 Previewing Previewing means looking over a book or article quickly before you read it carefully.\When you preview, look at the title and subtitle, pictures and graphics, and words in bold print or italics. 8 Paragraph A paragraph is a group of sentences about one topic. There is usually one sentences that tells you the topic. All the other sentences tell more about the topic

9 Main Idea A reading passage is usually about one important topic or idea. That is main idea. You can often find the main idea at the beginning of the reading and sometimes at the end. The rest of the reading often repeats, explains, and supports this main idea and gives specific examples.

10 If you have trouble figuring out the implied main ideas, you may find it helpful to use the following two questions: What is the topic or subject of a paragraph? In other words, what is the whole paragraph about? What is the main point being made about that topic”?
