TG1 participants will co author an IEEE 802.15.1 Handbook, A Designer’s Companion. This Handbook will be produced in conjunction with the Draft. We understand that the Draft will NOT be printed but will be published as a PDF. ] Notice:This document has been prepared to assist the IEEE 802.15. It is offered as a basis for discussion and is not binding on the contributing individual(s) or organization(s). doc.: IEEE 802.15-01/054r0 Submission July 2000 Ian Gifford, M/A-COM, Inc.Slide 3 Summary The IEEE has been granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license from Bluetooth™ SIG to adopt or adapt and copy a portion of the Bluetooth™ Specification Version 1.0 Foundation to be used as base material in the IEEE Standards Project P802.15.1 The IEEE will publish the 802.15.1 Std in early 2001 The IEEE wants to publish additional collateral in support of the 802.15.1 Std –IEEE 802.15.1 Designer’s Companion –IEEE Bluetooth™ Pocket Guides The Bluetooth™ SIG is working with the IEEE Standards Publishing Programs to publish a Pocket Guide based on the Bluetooth™ Version 1.0 Foundation Core & Profiles Specification for the Fall 2000. It will be ~150pg. Therefore, there will be a Pocket Guide(s). The question is there a reason for a Designer’s Companion on the Std. too. This contribution is assuming a Designer’s Companion is needed.

However, additional collateral help with technology adoption.

More Complexity More Pages Less Complexity Less Pages IEEE Guide: "How to Find What You Need in the Bluetooth Spec." IEEE 802.15.1 Handbook, a Designer’s Companion: The collateral that will help with technology adoption could take the form of Designer’s Companion or Handbook. Which will be a ~200 page book that complements the Std.
