7 Things have changed. Things that used to takes weeks or days can be done in minutes over the Internet. These changes have been BOTH good and bad. We get it.

8 Stronger stance against cheating with electronic devices Increased penalties for use of electronic devices at improper times Allows teachers more control  Increases powers to fight cheating  But still bans use when teachers do not approve Strong stance against harassment Ensure district meets contractual obligations with licensed software Updated to the needs and uses of today

11 Quiet use allowed during:  Study Hall  Passing Time between classes  Lunch  Homeroom (when not doing something)  When allowed by a teacher Teachers can require students to turn off and can collect during test/quiz Get caught using at wrong time 3+ times during a year or using it to cheat: lose cell phone privileges for a max of 6 months + usual punishments No harassing anyone. Period.

13 Comply with Intended Use of the System Assure Ethical Use of the System  Don't let anyone know your password(s).  Don't violate the privacy of other users.  Don't copy or misuse copyrighted material (including software).  Don't use SDHT network to harass anyone in any way. Assure Proper Use of System Resources

14 Comply with Intended Use of the System Protect computer Equipment  Don't eat, drink, or bring food or liquids into the computer labs.  Don't reconfigure the lab, either hardware or software.

15 Assure Fair Access to Workstations in Computer Lab  Don't violate the official priorities for the use of workstations; in particular, don't play games or engage in other non-academic activity if the lab is busy, and don't log on to more than one workstation at a time.  Don't leave your workstation unattended for more than 20 minutes. Don't make a lot of noise in the computer labs. Assure Fair Access to Computer Printers  Don't violate the official priorities for the use of printers; in particular, don't be a printer hog or use the computer printers as copy machines.
