4 4  2004 Copyright RosettaNet. RosettaNet Foundational Programs Improving Implementation ProgramStatus Scope PIP ® Specification Format Complete Develop methodologies to produce machine-readable PIP specs, resulting in improved interoperability, less ambiguity and less effort for solution providers to support new PIPs. EIM Foundational (Engineering Info Management) On Track Due to its generic nature, after the implementation of 2A10 it is necessary for additional deployment to determine trading partner and application-area specific final interchange structure. EIM Foundational will standardize the technical architecture and supporting technologies for efficient deployment of EIM business processes. RNIF Technical Advisory/ Recommend. On Track RNIF Technical Recommendation (TR) on High Availability that addresses failure issues reported by PIP® implementers RNIF 2.0 Technical Advisory (TA) on the use of XML Schema based PIPs with RNIF 1.1 and RNIF 2.0 RosettaNet Methodology On Track Driven and largely staffed by the RosettaNet Operations team, this program encompasses projects that define, improve and document RosettaNet methods and processes.

5 5  2004 Copyright RosettaNet. RosettaNet Foundational Programs Evolving Architecture ProgramStatus Scope Domain Model On Track Defines re-usable XML & UML objects that form Universal Structures and business domains, and documents processes that PIP ® developers use to extend the model. Promotes message consistency for easier implementation and design-time efficiencies. Dictionary Architecture Off Track Develops an architecture for a scalable, unified, single RosettaNet Dictionary, addressing the needs of the PIP ® user community, PIP developers and solution providers. Issue: Resource constraints continue to delay completion of modeling effort. Dictionary model to be delivered 3Q 2004. Multiple Messaging Services On Track Investigates the evolution and extension of RosettaNet’s existing messaging protocol standards (RNIF) to support lower implementation costs, increased flexibility at the messaging layer, and increased convergence with horizontally accepted standards for improved interoperability across regional users & vertical markets. RosettaNet Automated Enablement On Track Develop capabilities to reduce the time and cost of implementing a new PIP by automating the communication and deployment of trading partner specific implementation requirements.

6 6  2004 Copyright RosettaNet. RosettaNet Foundational Programs Evolving Architecture (continued) ProgramStatus Scope Constraint Descriptions -- Leverage OWL (W3C) and/or similar technologies to describe and check consistency of constraints at the message, document and information model levels, which are general, industry-specific or trading partner-specific Issue: Limited progress due to lack of resources and business implementation commitment. Message Control & Choreography -- Extends RosettaNet PIP architecture to support integrated multi-PIP and multi-party business interactions to enable long- running processes in dynamic trading networks. Issue: Limited/no progress due to staffing challenges and lack of additional company readiness to focus on topic.

7 7  2004 Copyright RosettaNet. RosettaNet Foundational Programs Extending Business Processes ProgramStatus Scope RNBD Development On Track Enhances the RosettaNet Business Dictionary for interaction with the PIP ® Specification development and publication processes. RNTD Development On Track Provides ongoing development and management of the RosettaNet Technical Dictionary and supporting maintenance processes and tools. Crucial to the operation of PIPs 2A9 and 2A10. Important to PIP 2A1. To be utilized by Material Composition milestone program.
