A : one who professes belief in the teachings of Jesus Christ B : Religious Tolerance says that the most common definition of a Christian is one who is "a follower of Christ and his teachings. C : noun. a person professing belief in Jesus as the Christ, or in the religion based on the teachings of Jesus

If we are believers in, or followers of “ Christ “, then He has to be our example in EVERYTHING we say and do … So on a regular basis, we need to see how we are doing according to His word and ask ourselves.....

Reasons to follow HIS example as best we can, if we want to have confidence in our hope of Heaven, We cant afford to be hypocrites since we are “the salt of the Earth” according to Matthew 5 : 13 We will be held accountable for our lives lived here, Romans 14 : 12 “So then, each of us will give account of himself to God”

Christians and leaders too ? Uh Oh, that spells HUGE responsibility. One that is commonly abused and not taken care of correctly. Mainly in the world, but also much too often in religious organizations including the Lords church ! Many Christians will be caught off guard on the day of judgment because of this very subject. We have got to get it right, because the cost is too great for so many if we don’t !

Mark 10 : 45 “For even the son of man did not come to be served, but to serve…”

Be shepherds of God’s flock that is under your care, serving as overseers --- not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not greedy for money, BUT EAGER TO SERVE, not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being EXAMPLES to the flock. 1 Peter 5 : 2-3 We are to LEAD by EXAMPLE ! Not by force or personal will. Servants like HE was.

Jesus called them together and said, “You know that those who are regarded as rulers of the gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them. Not so much with you, Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first, must be slave of all. For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.” Mark 10 : 42 - 45

1 Peter 3 : 7 tells us husbands to be considerate as we live with our wives….that our prayers not be hindered. Ephesians 5 : 25 commands us to love our wives as Christ loved the church and gave Himself for her And in the very next chapter of Ephesians fathers are told to not provoke our children but to bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.

We are to be soft spoken, loving, understanding, compassionate servants to our wives and children NOT Loud mouth, demanding, controlling, kings of our castle. We should be lovingly serving and setting the proper examples NO MATTER WHAT. God knows whats best for us and obeying Him will result in successful Christian families and faithful GROWING churches.
