2 1840 The first camera was invented by Alexander Wolcott and his camera design was patented on May 8, 1840.

3 1888 George Eastman invents the Kodak camera and introduces rolled photographic film.

4 1903 The first silent movie was produced by Thomas Edison was called, “The Great Train Robbery” and was only twelve minutes long. Fun Fact: My favorite silent movie is, “The General” starring Buster Keaton.

5 1905 Harry Davis opens the first Nickelodeon in Pittsburg.

6 The first animated cartoon is produced.

15 2000 Canon first introduced their successful line of ELPH digital cameras.

16 2001 Apple released the iPod, which became the most popular MP3 player in history.

17 2004 The DirecTV HD DVR device took digital video recording to the next level. The 250GB drive held 30 hours of high-definition programming or hours of standard TV. 

18 2006 The iPhone – who else, but of course Steve Jobs, CEO for Apple, Inc. to take smartphones to a higher standard.  This device, though controversial, is pretty, touchy-feely, and has a tremendous future.  Approximately 6.4 million iPhones are active in the U.S. alone.  

19 2006 Flat screen TV's are larger and less expensive. LCD TV's are now outselling plasma screens and projected to be the most popular kind of TVs in the world by 2009.

20 2010 3D movies and 3D television sets arrive. It started with James Cameron's blockbuster "Avatar". 3D has been around for decades, but this time it seems as though it is here to stay.

21 2012 George Lucas announced he will be selling the rights to “Star Wars” to Disney.
